FRANK MIR WINS INTERIM BELT
Frank Mir regains his title as UFC heavyweight champ, defeating Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira with a stunning TKO.
"I've known about Tony Blauer and his research for years," said the champ. "I had read about him years ago in Black Belt and had integrated the S.P.E.A.R. tactic into some of my security work. I was excited to invite him onto TUF and get a firsthand look at his coaching and equipment."
After the TUF show, Mir invited Coach Blauer back for some one-on-one HIGH GEAR™ and S.P.E.A.R. System™ training in preparation for his upcoming fight.
According to Mir, the S.P.E.A.R. training came in handy. "I used it in the first round he [Nogueira] slipped my left hand, I speared him and circled out, but then I dug an uppercut and pushed him against the cage."
About S.P.E.A.R., Mir added, "I think it's a great tactic and will come into play in future fights; I certainly use it in training."
The UFC star also praised HIGH GEAR for improving his performance. "HIGH GEAR is must for anyone who wants to really drill their sparring partners without cutting or breaking them. As a southpaw, my team and I had been preparing to intercept with my jab and step outside. Incorporating the HIGH GEAR really helped me prepare for Nogueira 'cause it allowed me to hit faster and harder in training with less fear of injuring a partner." Mir will face Brock Lesnar next. MAKE YOUR HOME GYM ROCK
Coach Blauer has built a world-class 'CrossFit' garage gym. One of his challenges was finding the right equipment for pull-ups, ring dips and muscle-ups.
