IMPORTANT TESTIMONIALS:
"The S.P.E.A.R. SYSTEM™ utilizes instinctive motion to effect a combative change in both participants. Its effectiveness is grounded in basic physiology, and as a result, although initially apparently simple, it is fundamentally as complex as the system it is designed to protect, humans."
Robert Smith, MD
"Tony Blauer's S.P.E.A.R. System™ is the new paradigm of combatives training.
As a law enforcement officer, use of force trainer, and academician, I have
studied the efficacy of use of force tactics and techniques for well over a decade
and have concluded that the S.P.E.A.R. System™ is the most comprehensive
combatives program currently available. The system has also become the
genesis and springboard of my professional research and training. The reason is
simple: the S.P.E.A.R. System™ is 'totality in training'. I will never again train or
live without its principles."

"I am a PTI with the Avon and Somerset Police based in the UK and on Tuesday 6 Aug 09, I delivered a 4-hour S.P.E.A.R. package to existing officers as part of their requalification in the use of their protective equipment.
The normal comments were audible from the word go. "What is this stuff? I have been doing this for 20 years, there is nothing you can teach me. What time do we finish?" These are the normal negative comments we get from officers who come and attend a 4-hour course. I hate this negative approach to training.
However, I was right up for it, fired right up and got the class totally enjoying the session from the start, thanks to some of the training anecdotes and examples that I picked up when I did my S.P.E.A.R. Instructor Development Program.
I was disappointed at their initial lack of commitment and interest in the session, but by the end, even the old sweats were buzzing.
I went through the package on a high and I guess my enthusiasm rubbed off. So much so, that they all wanted some extra tuition during the dinner break!
It was great to get this response and they all went away saying that they had actually enjoyed the session, learned some new stuff and would take the subject matter forward to the streets. A result!
Just thought you would like to know that we can still teach some of the old cops a thing or two, despite the normal "there is nothing you can teach me" attitude. The S.P.E.A.R. concepts, principles and training methods I learned through doing the course worked really well."
